LOS GATOS, CA, March 16, 2006 –  SplashData, Inc. , the leading developer of productivity and lifestyle applications for smartphones, today announced the appointment of Morgan Slain as its president and chief executive officer. Mr. Slain brings to SplashData a wealth of software experience from prior executive positions at Mobile Digital Media (MDM), Palm and The Walt Disney Company.

As SplashData’s CEO, Mr. Slain will focus on updating and expanding the company’s popular line of productivity software.  SplashData is best known for its SplashWallet application suite, including SplashID, SplashPhoto, SplashMoney and SplashShopper.  The company develops software for major smartphone and PDA platforms – including Palm OS, Windows Mobile Smartphone, Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Symbian – as well as for Windows and Macintosh desktop platforms.  Mr. Slain is also expected to expand SplashData’s sales effort to corporate IT departments, where SplashID has achieved success as a security solution for password management and protection.

“SplashData is known as the premier developer of applications that enable people to be more efficient and productive with their mobile devices,” said Mr. Slain. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to lead SplashData as we create more great products and support additional phone platforms so that we can help even more people organize and manage their busy lifestyles.”

Previously, Mr. Slain was General Manager of retail software publisher MDM, where he formed licensing partnerships with Microsoft, Electronic Arts and Atari, directed the product development roadmap, and oversaw sales and marketing.  MDM was a spinoff from Palm, Inc., where Mr. Slain served as an executive charged with strategic alliances, managing relationships with AOL, Yahoo, Excite and NTT DoCoMo.  Prior to joining Palm, Mr. Slain spent nearly eight years in a series of roles at The Walt Disney Company, culminating with his appointment as Vice President of New Media & Business Development.
