FreewarePalm: Open Chess v2.0.1 Description: OpenChess is a GNU/GPL chess program for the PalmOS Platform, for color handhelds (3.5 and higher). Basically, OpenChess is a simple retailoring of the old but famous GNU Chess2 program, from the Free Software Fundation, which was originately designed for DOS/Unix platforms, in alphanumeric mode. OpenChess gives you the same features as GNU Chess 2, but with with a complete presentation in colors ! This first version of OpenChess is fully based on GNU Chess2... Gets already a smart engine, a 240 openings library, and the port effort onto PalmOS was minimized, as this original version was designed for console interface, or DOS window. Most porting effort has been placed on the GUI interface, while the engine code has been left almost unchanged !
