PalmSource, Samsung, China Unicom NewSpace and Motricity Showcase Versatility of Samsung SCH-i539 Smartphone

BEIJING, China, May 12, 2005 — PalmSource, Inc. (NASDAQ: PSRC), Samsung Electronics, China Unicom NewSpace and Motricity showcased the versatility and ease-of-use of Samsung's SCH-i539 smartphone at an event held today in Beijing, China to announce the general availability of the Samsung SCH-i539 in retail channels throughout China beginning today. PalmSource also announced today that it has launched the Palm Powered Mobile World Program (PPMW) in China, and China Unicom NewSpace is the first charter carrier member of the program. China Unicom NewSpace joins existing PPMW mobile operator partners Orange, Sprint and Telefónica Móviles España, in addition to more than a dozen infrastructure and middleware partners in the program designed to capitalize on the growing market.
